Soot Clean Up

The soot and ashes covered this home after it suffered a fire. Cleaning up the soot was needed quickly to keep the soot from ruining the flooring in the room.

How do you clean up soot damage?

Fortunately, the fire smoldered and was not too destructive. The firefighters would have had to use a lot of water in the home which would have caused more damage and set in the soot. SERVPRO of Berlin/Williamstown used HEPA filtered vacuums and neutralizing agents to clean all the soot. Without the soot most of the smoke smell was gone. To finish the job we wiped the walls and added a filtered air scrubber to the home.
